Congratulations to the Varsity softball team for the HUGE victory over Madison County (7-6 in 10 innings). For those that weren't there, you missed a great ball game by both teams. Its a shame someone had to lose that game, but I'm glad we won. I am so proud of our girls for never giving up (we were down 5 different times in the game and always found a way to fight back). That will benefit us a lot down the road.

JV is off this weekend. Enjoy sometime off with your families.

Varsity plays at West Jackson Park tomorrow at 4, 6, & 8. We will leave school at 2:00 (get out of class at 1:45). Ladies - make sure you get down to the lockerroom quickly after you are release. We will wear Red jerseys, white pants, red socks, and red belts. Make sure you have everything before you come to school tomorrow.

By the way, the locker room looks great. Thanks for everyone that helps clean it up.

Great scrimmage tonight. Good to see all the fans out at the game. Always nice to get that first victory (even if its just a scrimmage game). For those that were not able to make it, we defeated Providence Christian 4-3. I saw a lot of things I liked tonight, but there is still work to be done. Practice tomorrow is at 4:00. We will probably practice all the way to 7:00. Its going to be hot tomorrow, so make sure to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Don't forget the parent and player meeting on Thursday evening (7:00 in the LHS Auditorium).

There are still several players that have not paid their $350 player's fees or turned in a sponsorship for that amount. I am going to had out all practice gear, t-shirts, clothing bags, etc. on Monday. Originally the plan was to hand them out tomorrow, but I am still waiting on a few items fromt he sporting goods store. If fees are not turned in, you will not recieve your stuff. The $350 is what goes to pay for these items, so we have to have the money first. Please get that taken care of immediately. I don't want anyone to have to go without their practice gear.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Varsity Scrimmage vs. Providence tomorrow at 5:00 at LHS. Admission is free.

Pictures are this Thursday morning at 9am. Bring practice clothes to dress into.

Mandatory Player and Parent Meeting this Thursday night at 7:00pm in the LHS Auditorium.

Make sure to get your first installment of your dues into Ed Beshel or Sheri Imler. I will start passing out practice shorts and t-shirts on Wednesday. The first payment needs to be in before you receive you gear.

As most of you may have heard, the thunderstorm on Saturday evening did a little damage to the hitting facility. The wind from the storm pulled down all of the nets and guide wires. We are going to attempt to put them back up tomorrow night at 6:00. If you can come help (and are not afraid of heights), please be there at 6.

We are having an inter-squad scrimmage tomorrow morning. Ladies, you may want to wear pants for the scrimmage in case you need to slide.

The practice and workday for this saturday morning is cancelled. We will be helping out at West Walton instead. They are hosting a one day clinic for the fall softball teams. They especially need help with pitching and catching.
